This filipino garlic fried rice is a favorite for breakfast! You can eat this on the side any time of day really, but this is most enjoyed at the start of your day. Easy, garlicy, and delicious!
Coat your sauté pan with olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add your minced garlic to the pan. Sauté the minced garlic with the oil. Mix for a couple minutes until browned. See note below.
Add the cooked rice to the pan, salt, and ground pepper. Mix until the rice is evenly coated with the seasoning. Lower the heat to the lowest setting, place the cover on the pan, and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Enjoy!
Notes
For a quick way to get the garlic minced, place all the peeled garlic cloves in a sandwich bag or a Ziploc. Use a meat tenderizer to smash the garlic. You will get different textures in the bag perfect for the rice. See Sam’s Pro Tips for this Filipino Garlic Fried Rice for further discussion.
I recommend using a long-grain rice, such as Jasmine rice.
