Ingredients

  • 4 russet potatoes peeled or unpeeled

Seasoning

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Sauce and Toppings

  • 6.75 ounces Trader Joe's Peri-Peri Sauce see note below
  • cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 4 green onions chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425° F. Cut the bottom of each potato just enough to get a flat, rounded surface. Place the flat edge of the potato on a cutting board and push the APPLE SLICER through the potato to get perfect wedge cuts. Repeat for all four potatoes.
  • Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl and pat dry with a paper towel. Toss the potatoes in the bowl with olive oil and seasoning.
  • Line a large baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly drizzle additional olive oil or use non-stick spray on sheet to prevent sticking. Place cut potatoes on the baking pan and spread out. Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until potatoes are lightly browned throughout.
  • At the halfway point, do a quick mix of the potatoes in the baking pan to get a mix of soft and crispy french fries when baked. Rearrange and turn potatoes as necessary.
  • After the potatoes are finished baking, drizzle the Trader Joe's Peri-Peri Sauce, ranch dressing, and crumbled blue cheese on top. Place the baking pan under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden. See note below.
  • Top the fries with the chopped green onion after removing from the broiler. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. We love using the Trader Joe’s Peri-Peri Sauce that has fermented and dried chilies for that extra kick. It is the perfect blend of both spicy and tangy. If this is not accessible, you can use our buffalo sauce recipe from our Easy Sticky Honey Instant Pot Buffalo Wings in 4 Simple Steps.
  2. In this buffalo cheese fries recipe I provided measurements, but honestly, you really don’t need it! When adding the different sauces to the fries, you can add according to preference. Simply drizzle the sauce on top before broiling based on how saucy you would like the fries.
