Keyword: jalapeno honey butter
Servings: 1 log

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ tablespoon honey
  • ½ jalapeno finely minced
  • 3 teaspoons cilantro finely minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • zest from ½ a lime + a squirt of lime juice
  • Trader Joe's Green Goddess Seasoning to taste optional

Instructions

  • In a medium sized bowl, mix together all the ingredients until well combined.
  • Spoon the butter onto a sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Roll the plastic wrap into a log and twist the ends. See note below. Store the butter in the refrigerator until firm for 45 minutes to an hour. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. After wrapping the butter in plastic wrap or parchment paper, you can store the butter in the refrigerator and cut cubes as needed from the plastic wrap. Or if you don't want the butter in a log, transfer the jalapeno honey butter to a covered ramekin or container to spoon out as needed. The pro to this option is that it looks prettier in the ramekin on the dinner table!
  2. If you don't have the Trader Joe's Green Goddess Seasoning, you can make your own with notes of lemon powder, dried parsley, dried chives, and dried minced onion.
  3. 1/2 a jalapeno is equivalent to about 2 tablespoons. Use the lime juice to preference, but just a squirt is plenty.
